RE: What about all the people the anointed water works for?

TB Joshua Watch is at it again trying to deter people from TB Joshua and Anointing Water. This time they are trying to explain away the countless testimonies that keep coming and coming on Emmanuel TV. They gave 3 reasons for why they believe Anointing Water is fake despite the fact that it has been effective for hundreds of people. They said it was over-hype, people were being affected by something called a placebo effect, and even though people might be getting healed, satan can do that stuff too. So lets look at some of their claims in the light of God’s Word and see how they stand.

It’s true that there is much hype revolving around the Anointing Water, but this is the same thing that happened during the days of Jesus’ earthly ministry. When you read John 5, in the Bible, you can see that there was so much hype concerning the pool of Bethesda that a great multitude of sick people would rush into the pool believing they would receive their healing; so much so that the man Jesus approached couldn’t get an opportunity to enter the pool. Today, God is using T.B. Joshua’s Anointing Water in the same way that He was using the water in the pool of Bethesda and, unsurprisingly, it is having the same effect. It is pulling great multitudes of people from all over the world who are looking for a solution to their problems. Why are they coming? Because just as in the days of the pool of Bethesda, they are seeing many others give testimony after testimony about how they are being healed, delivered and blessed.

Jesus Christ is healing so many people through the medium of the Anointing Water that the people at TB Joshua Watch finally admit that, yes, people are being healed but its all in their heads. They claim that it is something called the “placebo effect”. A placebo is a simulated or otherwise medically ineffectual treatment for a disease or other medical condition intended to deceive the recipient. Sometimes patients given a placebo treatment will have a perceived or actual improvement in a medical condition, a phenomenon commonly called the placebo effect. Is the Anointing Water a placebo? Well, when we look at what a placebo is we can see that it is clearly defined as something which is disguised as a medical treatment in order to deceive a patient. For instance a doctor would give a sick patient water and tell them that it is medicine. In other words they are telling them it’s something which is known to cure but in actuality it’s not. But this is not the case with Anointing Water. T.B. Joshua never claimed that Anointing Water as some kind of medical treatment which is known for curing sickness. In fact, he emphasizes that yes, it is nothing but water he gives. However, it is God who gives it’s Anointing.

The next argument is that they claim that there is no way that we can differentiate between a real and a false prophet because they can both do signs and wonders. Well, is this what the Bible says? Of course not! Jesus made it very clear in Matthew 12:25 that “every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divide against itself will not stand.” This means that the power of satan cannot cast out satan. So, if T.B. Joshua and Anointing Water is being used to deliver people from demons then it simply means they are of God. Let’s not get confused. Apostles of God are identified by signs and wonders of the Holy Spirit, 2 Corinthians 12:12 and in Acts 5:12 they performed many signs and wonders. If you want to know if someone is of God or not, Jesus made it very clear in Matthew 7:20 that “by their fruits you will know them.” Meaning that a false prophet cannot bear the fruits of the Holy Spirit as listed in Galatians 5:22-23 . Satan may try to imitate the miracles of God but he can never duplicate them. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind? John 10:21 . A good example is in Exodus 7:10-12 . So Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and they did so, just as the LORD commanded. And Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh and before his servants, and it became a serpent. But Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers; so the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. For every man threw down his rod, and they became serpents. But Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods.

In theses verses we can see that satan tried to imitate a sign and wonder from God but God easily over powered satan and made a mockery of him. We can see this pattern all throughout the Bible.

T.B. Joshua Watch says it is blasphemous for T.B. Joshua to say that the Anointing Water is for the salvation of your soul but anyone who watches Emmanuel TV knows that what is meant is that the healing and deliverance that God does through the medium of the Anointing Water is not an end in itself but a means to an end – the salvation of your soul. This is supported in the Bible in John 5:14 when Jesus told the man who was healed to “Sin no more, lest a worst thing come upon you.”

I would just like to say to those at T.B. Joshua Watch in light of Acts 5:39, leave T.B. Joshua alone! For if his purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop him; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.
