“Our common problem is that we do not wait patiently for God’s release in our regular relationships. Rather, it is our circumstances that release us. That is why we are always facing relationships that are neither lasting nor rewarding. Examples abound in our marriages, businesses, church attendances, even friendships. These relationships break out of sheer circumstance, not out of God’s release.
“As Christians, we should see situations, such as conflicts, hurts and all forms of offence as God’s way to strengthen our character. When we harbour offences too long without forgiveness, the result is that you begin a life of self-imposed isolation, self-centredness and total caging.”
