HOW TO READ THE HOLY BIBLE

Today, many approach the Holy Bible as they do other books. It is easy to see that they do not know the difference between the Holy Bible and other books. The Holy Bible is the letter inspired by the Spirit of God. Holy men were carried along by the Holy Spirit as they wrote the Holy Scriptures. This means that the Holy Spirit is the author of the Holy Bible, and you must be carried along by the Holy Spirit as you read the Bible so that you can bring the Word to reality. When you read the Holy Bible without the help of the Holy Spirit, you are reading history, past events, stories. Therefore, we should seek the attention of the Holy Spirit, for it makes the Bible a powerful tool for us.

God speaks to us through His Word by His Spirit. He calls you through His Word by His Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the communicator and our heart is the contact point. The Holy Spirit cannot communicate with a heart full of bitterness, hatred or bad feelings towards others. You may read the Bible a hundred times, but if you do so while holding grudges against anyone, the Bible will be of no meaning to you. We should read the Bible with devotion. We should keep meditating on it until it becomes a reality. Read it slowly, repeatedly and attentively. You must also free your heart to follow Him, for only a free spirit can attract the Spirit of God.

Prayer: O Holy Spirit, free my heart to follow You, in Jesus Christ’s name! Amen!

WE ARE CHRIST’S REPRESENTATIVES

Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

When you gave your life to Christ, when you said no to your life of sin and made the ultimate decision to follow our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, you became His representative here on earth. As a man born of the Spirit, as a believer, you are a representative of Christ. As His representatives, we must mirror Him because He is our standard. I mean, if we say that Christ dwells inside of us, we must speak it, act it and show it because our life is the greatest sermon.

For us to represent Christ, we have to be conscious of His presence in our lives. When we are conscious of Christ’s presence, we will be moved to do only what pleases Him. How we live then matters because we are expected to live right. For us to live right, we must be willing to let go of everything that will hinder our relationship with God. I mean, we must be ready to pick up our cross and follow Him. We must strive every day to know Him more so that we can become more like Him; this is the only way we can represent Him.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, give me the grace to know You more, the grace to be more like You, in Jesus’ name! Amen!

CHRIST HAS GIVEN US VICTORY

1 Corinthians 15:56 – 57 says: “The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Our Lord Jesus Christ has given us victory by conquering death so that we might reign in life with Him. Our Lord Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins so that we might be free. This victory is a rare opportunity given to all believers for us to experience a new beginning. Jesus Christ’s victory is the joy of a true believer. His death and resurrection brought about the new life we enjoy today. Having life in abundance, He brushed aside our unworthy past and brought us to the living God. His resurrection has made a way into eternal glory for us and has offered us victory.

He conquered death so that we may live. He conquered sickness to give us good health. He conquered poverty to secure abundance for us. Begin to take your place in the believer’s authority and start confessing this victory over your life, over your situation — and see it become a reality.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for taking my place in death. Thank You for Your gift of life. Thank You for giving me victory, in Jesus’ name. Amen!

Whatever Is Rooted In God Is Permanent

Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

For our faith to be consistent, it must be based on something more stable than feelings, and that is God’s Word, which is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Making Christ Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour is the most important decision you can make, knowing that He is incomparably more reliable, more dependable, and much stronger. When you receive the Lord Jesus Christ, you will be able to access His ideas, see life as He sees it, and see yourself the way He sees you. Joseph was shown the photograph of his future (Genesis 37:5,9-11). That incredible photograph of tomorrow is planted within our hearts by the Holy Spirit. Just like Joseph, we have a role to play; we must be rooted in God’s Word so as to bring this glorious future to pass.

Man cannot discover new oceans if he does not lose sight of the shore. Keep on meditating on God’s Word and you will soon become a man of vision. To a man of vision, no matter what happens, no matter what comes, there is always a future. When Joseph found himself in the dry pit, he was not worried but kept holding on to what God told him. He was focused and determined. Instead of succumbing to the pressure and tension you are facing, leave it for Jesus because He will not leave you without a solution.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to live my life for You alone, in Jesus Christ’s name! Amen!

JESUS WWNTS YOU FREED!

Mark 11:25-26 says, “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

Many keep battling with stagnation, limitation, disappointment, and setbacks because they are victims of the trap of unforgiveness. The way of obedience is the way of freedom. God commands us to forgive, and we obey Him when we forgive others. If you refuse to forgive, then you disobey God. Forgiveness does not mean ignoring what is happening; it does not mean sweeping the dirt under the rug. It is being concerned about our offenders and their relationship with God. An unforgiving attitude not only destroys your relationships but also poisons your soul and robs you of your blessings.

The knowledge that you have sinned and been forgiven creates mercy and compassion towards others. Don’t allow sin and confrontation tear down your relationships or pull you apart; instead, see the confrontation of sin as a means of coming together, growing together, and being prepared together. If God were to keep count of our wrongs, you and I would not be here today. Always have it in mind that no man or woman is perfect. In each of your prayers to our Heavenly Father, you must be able to say, “I know of no one whom I do not heartily love.”

PRAYER: O Holy Spirit, help me to see beyond the mistakes of others, in Jesus’ name! Amen!

THE SECRET OF BLESSINGS

John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Regardless of the size of what we possess, everyone has something to give. Take the case of God, who gave His only Son to humankind. He planted Jesus in the earth to produce uncountable sons and daughters. Remember that you are born again today because of that Son. We are who we are today because God gave us His only begotten Son. The people of the world believe that there is more gain in receiving than in giving. However, as Christians, we know that it is more blessed to give than to receive. We give every good thing the Lord has given to us—everything God has blessed us with. This is because we need each other’s strength and each other’s love.

It is not only about what we give but also how we give it. What matters is our manner of giving and our attitude towards giving. Cain and Abel both had something to give, but the difference was in their attitude towards giving. Abel gave to glorify God, to honour God and to do God’s will. Cain gave to glorify himself and dishonour God. We should give with humility and cheerfulness. In these perilous times, we should learn to give more—more of our time, more of our strength, more of our love—to those in need around us.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, give me the grace to give with love and humility, in Jesus’ name! Amen!

THESE HARD TIMES ARE NECESSARY

In both the Old Testament and the New Testament, we find ample proof that being faithful to God does not mean a complete absence of adversity. Tension arises not because we have done wrong but because we live in a complex and contradictory world — a world ruled by evil desires that are opposed to God’s Word. Have you ever seen a soldier questioning why the enemy is attacking him? Most likely not, for the soldier knows that he is on the battlefield!  So, why should we Christian soldiers question God over our attacks, our struggles with sickness, our encounters with opposition?

Never for a moment allow yourself to sit back and wallow in self-pity, for a man may be sick and yet be a friend of God and a woman may be poor but be a favourite of Heaven. Don’t allow your situation to rule you or dim the eyes of your faith. Never doubt God’s desire or ability to help you. For example, David never questioned why a giant was challenging his future; David simply ran to represent God on the battlefield. It was on the battlefield that David recalled how God had delivered him from the lion and the bear. He concluded that God would deliver him from the giant as well.

May God give you the heart to bless Him in your situation so that you may be blessed by Him through your situation, for these hard times are necessary.

Prayer: O Holy Spirit, help me to see things in the light of God’s Word, in Jesus’ name! Amen!
