Building Collapse: Aircraft flew below recommended height, witness tells court

Military air craft captured went round the SCOAN building before it collapsed

An aviation expert, Dr. Yakubu Dazhia, has told a Lagos High Court, Igbosere that aircrafts are not supposed to fly over a congested area at a minimum of 1,000 feet.

The witness, who narrated this before Justice Lateef Lawal-Akapo during the ongoing trial of the Registered Trustees of the Synagogue Church of All Nation (SCOAN) and others involved in the collapse of SCOAN building in 2014, said further that no aircraft should fly 300 metres between the aircraft and the highest obstacle in a congested area.

Led by counsel for the Registered Trustees of SCOAN, Mr. Olalekan Ojo (SAN), the witness said that an aircraft flew “very close” to SCOAN building before it collapsed on September 12, 2014, killing 116 people.

He said the distance between the aircraft and the tallest building in that area should not be less than 1,000ft.

Dazhia told court that he is an aircraft engineer, aviation consultant and airline operator. He noted that the plane had been identified as a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Hercules C130 training aircraft.

His evidence was that, the plane was captured on Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) flying well below the 1000 feet flight altitude recommended by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

The witness told the court that the ICAO recommended safe altitude for flight in a congested area such as Ikotun Egbe, where the collapsed SCOAN building was located, is 1,000ft.

Under cross-examination by Deputy Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Dr. Babajide Martins, who questioned Dazhia’s competence and the genuineness of his doctorate degree, Dazhia agreed that although he had an engineering degree, his Ph.D “has nothing to do with aircraft engineering.”

The witness said that he was not an aircraft traffic controller, a bomb expert or accident investigator. Neither did he lodge any complaint about the incident to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Organisation (NCAO).

He was asked: “You didn’t inform the Air Force about your concern?”

Dazhia said: “You wanted them to gun me down, to kill me?”

The witness also agreed that measuring a plane’s altitude required special equipment. “An individual can’t do that with the naked eyes. Ikotun is a flight path,” he said.

Justice Lawal-Akapo adjourned further proceedings till March 14.

MESSAGE FROM‪ TBJoshua‬- SUNDAY 28.09.2014

Good morning church and viewers all over the world. I want to thank you for your prayer and your love for the victims and relations of all those involved in the incident.

The battle is for the Lord. I really want to thank God. God has been doing so much. We need to know a thousand victories, all the way long. Glory and honour to God Almighty.

For those who are outside the Lord, they would not know. When you are outside God, you will not know what I am talking about. When you are outside the light, you can’t understand what I am talking about.

For the three weeks before the incident, if you heard my message and sat down, you would know I was giving you a vision and prophetic Word on how to handle the situation at hand. Trials and tests are meant for our belief. I go by the directives of God.

I salute the martyrs of faith and the victims. I also salute their relations. My love and my prayers are always with them. The martyrs, victims and their relations, what they would like to see is the work of God continue. That is what they died for, suffered for and are living for.

From your heart, commit the relations of the martyrs to God. Ask God to strengthen them and open their understanding more to know and understand what happened here. Ask God to give them the grace to continue in God. In Him we live; in Him we move. Ask God to give them the grace to continue the work of salvation.

Remember the victims in one way or the other and ask for God’s intervention. Ask God for His power of resurrection within them and outside them, in Jesus Christ’s name we pray.

Remain silent and give thanks to God, within you. I want you to change your confession and give thanks to God.

Listen to God, not men. Don’t let your faith be disturbed. If anyone wants to disturb your faith with their negative words and message, remember God. See the need of God the more. See the need of serving the Lord the more, the need of moving closer to Him.

Don’t be disturbed. Pray for the relations; pray for the victims. That is your assignment – your love and prayer for the victims and the relations of the martyrs. That is your duty at this time.

Don’t allow yourself to be used by satan. If you do, satan will use his people to run to you and disturb you the more. This is an opportunity for them to disturb your faith with their negative words. Those who hate you and those who want you to die will run after you because of this issue. It is not that they love you but they want to see your countenance, your appearance, how you look and whether you are worried. Never allow this. Remember Jesus. Don’t change your words in a moment. Jesus is Lord.

What you saw happen – God is aware. If God is aware, who else is aware does not matter. The martyrs, victims and relations want to see your faith grow; they want to see the work of salvation and the work of God in your life continue. They want to see you serve the Lord the more. The only way you can allow the work of God to continue is to be with yourself and God, not to allow intruders and people around you to advise you and tell you what to do when they could not stop what happened.

I pray the satanic agents should be the only ones to suffer this. I said, our God will get back to them. Warn your family and brothers about their talk. You will know I am a man of God this time. People who are looking for your downfall and run to disturb your spirit, warn them to be careful of their tongues and the people who come to them. God is a God of vengeance – anybody can go for it.

You cannot help me, only God. Don’t disturb me; please leave me with God. You will see the outcome. I am saying this so that only the people who did this will suffer for it and you will not in any way suffer for it. The people who are writing whatever they are saying – all of us will see the outcome of this. Leave it for God.

I have been on this journey for 27 years. Do you think God can close His eyes and rubbish everything here? They are asking God to bring more evidence of whether He is the One who called me. Warn everyone to be very careful. This issue at hand is a delicate issue.

People are using all this to gain money and friends. This is a warning. Whatever anybody wants to write, let them write it; they will be the ones to read it.

I said, our God will get back to them. He has started somewhere. He is coming. If your brother is involved, unless he can resurrect the people who died, he will join them. If you can resurrect the people who died, you can go free. The servants, the people who sent them, the people who heard the stories all around and those who want to use it for themselves and disturb my spirit, you may likely join them. Be careful. To be forewarned is to be forearmed. Let us be very careful of our tongue.

Your responsibility is to the victims and the relations of the victims and martyrs of faith. If you say you are born again, wherever the victims and their relations are, wherever the relations of the martyrs of faith are, look for them. Let them know you are praying for them. What you eat, let them eat it. What you wear, let them wear out of it. What you have on your table, let them have it on their table, too. Share what you have with them – your love, prayer, affection and strength. Share it with them at this time. This is what we call ‘born again’ – my pain is your pain. Your joy is my joy.

The multitudes of people who claim to be with T.B. Joshua in prayer – if the same people turn to the families of the victims and martyrs of faith, do you not think life would be better for them than before? Join them, look for them, as many others are doing now.

Speaking on his popular broadcast platform Emmanuel TV, Joshua called on well-wishers who desired to give in cash or kind towards the golden occasion to rather channel such resources into charitable endeavors. “The best way to celebrate this birthday is to be on your knees and thank God for the life of T.B. Joshua. Pray for the Church of God for a strong bond of love. Pray for your nation and the whole world and rededicate yourself to the acts of giving. Be a father to the fatherless and a benefactor to the needy. Raise the standard of living through the little you are going to invest,” Joshua exhorted congregants. “Those things you have for T.B. Joshua, even what you will spend on a greeting card, put it together and spend it on this commission.”

He challenged viewers to examine the listed names on their phones, asking how many people were friends with the under-privileged or bedridden. “You must have many orphans and those on the sick bed as friends. Give them a call. Be a prayer partner with them and let them know there is hope. Become part of their family,” he passionately counselled.

He stated his priority project was facilitating the creation of jobs for frustrated graduates, calling on all in a position to support job-seekers to come forward. “We must get jobs for people who are jobless. This is the number one project for my 50 th birthday. I am going to pursue it. Graduates are everywhere without a job. This birthday, it will be an assignment for me.”

He bemoaned the state of youth worldwide, stating a bleak future lay ahead if urgent action was not taken by those in a position to help. “If you listen to the graduates of today, you will be afraid of the future. If something is not done quickly, you will not be able to sleep and close your eyes in the future. Tomorrow will be very tough; we have to come together and do something now.”

Last week, the project began in earnest with Joshua facilitating the employment of 24 graduates in jobs, 22 of whom were not members of The SCOAN. He called on churches worldwide to join in the call for job creation with no strings attached. “If every church and organization embarks on telling people in the position to get graduates jobs instead of campaigning for money and prosperity, it will change the situation,” he stated.

He further added that these actions should not be determined by time or season. “When you start, don’t stop – let it be part of you forever. Your rewards in life are determined by how many people you have helped and the problems you have solved. This is the way the Lord wants us to celebrate this birthday at 50.”

On a personal note, Joshua said the occasion was a sober moment for appreciation of God’s goodness in his life and added determination for greater service to Him and humanity. “To whom much is given, much is expected. The Lord has given me so much in all areas of my life which I cannot reciprocate. What an undeserved blessing! At 50, I should be more grateful to God and show more commitment to His service,” the Nigerian pastor stated. But in all of this, God have chosen to send a light to this dark world, to help humanity from the bondage of Satan and his agent who are the cause of evil in the world today. In the history of humanity right from the old to the new testament of the bible, God has always send a mediator from above to save the world from the hands of the evil ones, the coming of Tb Joshua to the world at this point in time is not a coincidences, it is divinely plan from above to redeem the world, the world at this moment is under the bondage of Satan and the evil ones but, with the ministry of Tb Joshua the works of Satan will be put to not in the life of God’s children. Christ came to restore the relationship between God and man but it is unfortunate that man have derailed and this have given Satan the chance to place man under his bondage, but thank God that TB Joshua have come to take man away from the bondage of Satan in to the marvelous light of God.

From this deliverance, many are very much aware that the present catastrophes in the world today are caused by Satan through possessing demons. Satan is a spirit; he performs his atrocities through human body, and has succeeded in using this medium to deceive the elite in the society through false doctrine and ideologies that comes from the pit of hell. Know that many crusaders of anti-faith healing and deliverance are doing the work of their master, Satan knowingly or unknowingly to them. We humans should not allow the opinion and believes of others to influences us because this world is beyond the way we see it, nothing should be taking for granted your believed about anything can not alter its reality. Because you have not had a personal experience about something, does not make it untrue, we should not be influenced by what we see or hear because it might be a disguise; we should always learn to take a neutral stand until we have a personal encounter. Skeptic words and believes does not change the reality of Gods existence, except you choose to accept what they want you to believe. The world today is full of charming tongues trying to deceive you against reality. For there is great differences between facts and reality, the world today is operating under fact whereas, fact changes but God never change.

The kingdom of darkness is fighting back in other to stop the mighty work of God being done by the prophet and the wise men.
