You are what you are because of your weakness. It is an entrance to satan. Let us close that door. The Bible says that no one can keep every commandment but as we strive to, we grow. We grow everyday as we block our weaknesses.

Your character is God in you. If you don’t want satan to enslave you, work on your character. As from today, don’t say, “God, bless me”, “God, save me from the situation I am in” – pray against your weakness.

Go straight to pray against your weakness because satan uses our weakness to enter us. If you close that place, no more satan. Your situation is not your enemy; your weakness is your enemy. Whatever situation you are in is not your enemy because it makes you to see the need of God. Therefore, when weakness strikes, draw closer to God; don’t run from God because of weakness.

In our struggle against weakness, remember that we are not perfect but we can strive towards perfection because we have perfection by our side – Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:48).

John 4:24, “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

According to the Scriptures, Jesus is the truth, the reality. There is no reality outside Him. Everything else is merely chasing shadows (Colossians 2:17).At some point in our lives, we hunger for meaning in our lives and thirst to find the truth. If you have not experienced the truth, there would be a sense of dissatisfaction in your life. If you have not encountered God, you do not know the truth – what life is all about and what happens when this life is over. Let us live in the truth. All the fruit of the Spirit are equal to truth (Ephesians 5:9). If you miss one, you miss all. If your relationship with God is not in spirit, it is not in truth and so it is all nothing because God is Spirit and those who worship Him must do so in Spirit and in truth. Freedom from sickness, disease, afflictions and pain come from knowing the truth. Stop fighting the truth because the truth never loses the battle. Only the truth can see you through the daily battle with the senses.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, may we know Your Truth and may the Truth set us free in reality, in Jesus’ name.

Trouble comes not always because we have taken any wrong step but because we live in a complex and contradictory world. When you cannot seem to get above your situation, it is in your best interest to get above your fears. Use your faith to put a demand. Faith does not ask for possible things, it demands the impossible. Faith is in one sense a divine gift and in another sense a human act. You have a part to play just as God has a part to play. It is not our mere wishful thinking that brings our ambition to pass but a rightful focus. It takes focused action, personal discipline and a lot of effort every day to make things happen. Avoid the trap of fear which increases the size of your enemy mentally. When you confess what you see, you are thus magnifying the problem above your Heavenly Father. If you doubt God’s Word, you doubt God because you believe in something contrary to that Word. God is greater than all. There is no need He cannot meet. Man’s condition does not change God’s position. God still is who He says He is; just give Him a chance to prove it.

Zechariah 8:6, “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: All this may seem impossible to you now, a small remnant of God’s people. But is it impossible for me? says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.”

People of God, have your circumstances ever pressed you to doubt God’s promises? Have you ever been tempted to ask, “Does God hear me? Does God love me? If God loves me, why do I have all these challenges?”

The lives of believers in both the old and new testaments testify that being faithful to God does not eliminate adversity. That you are a Christian, a pastor, an evangelist does not mean you will not be exposed to things that are not consistent with God’s Word. There will be a time to laugh, a time to cry, a time for war and a time for peace, a time to face temptation and a time to overcome. What time are you in? It is necessary for your forward movement in Christ.

In Romans 5:3-5, the apostle tells us, “…we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance and perseverance, character and character, hope. now hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us”.

There can be no victory without a battle. There can be no harvest without planting. There can be no resurrection without a death. Remember, when times are stable and the sea is calm and secure, no one is really tested. Pass your test and move on, in Jesus’ name!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, grant me grace in accepting adversity and enduring every pain so that I may learn what I should know, my grief to turn to gain.

In Mark 11:22, Jesus did not say, ‘If you encounter a situation or problem, pray it might be removed or it might be cast out.’ He said, “Have faith in God and then shout aloud to the mountain, ‘Be removed!’”

Today, we pray but lack the necessary faith to release the belief in our heart. If you are praying and the prayer does not spring from faith, you are wasting your time – you are making noise; you are talking to the air. You will hear yourself and people around you will hear you but God will not hear you, if it does not spring from faith.
Faith requires us to speak the Word before we have it, before we receive it or we see them. One is rewarded when one talks in faith. One is healed when one talks in faith. One is blessed when one talks in faith. One is delivered when one talks in faith. Faith counts in whatever you do. Speak faith and receive your reward today, in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER: Open my heart and mouth to Your Spirit, Your Word and Your faith, in Jesus’ name!

1 Chronicles 29:11-12, “Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendour, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.”

If anyone is great among men, it is God’s hand that made them so. The best man in the world can only maintain his integrity as long as God upholds him in it. God has ordered all so that the whole should appear to be of grace. We should acknowledge God in all spiritual things – every good thought, word and purpose to His grace from whom we received it. The most important thing about Christianity is not what we do or receive from God but the relationship we maintain with Him and the atmosphere produced by that relationship. Riches and glory come from God.

PRAYER: Father, God, we acknowledge You as our only Saviour, Healer, Deliverer, Comforter, Rescuer and Redeemer. Do it again and again and again in our lives, in Jesus’ name.

Luke 22:31-32, “And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”

The miracle Peter received actually commanded his faith, humility and self-denial. First he thought himself unworthy of Christ’s presence, let alone being so honoured. When we humble ourselves for Christ’s sake, He would exalt us in His own time and season.

Jesus would not have had anything to do with Peter had Peter not been made sensible by the vicissitudes of life. He was so tired and sick of the world that he was ready to embrace the superior order of Christ. In Christ’s new order, there is peace, not as the world gives.

Jesus knew that the troubles in this world could rob his followers of peace and thus cause their faith to fail. So, He specifically supported Peter with prayer. Certainly he would fall but with Jesus supporting his position, he was soon to overcome and bounce back in his faith. Time healed all the injuries his faith had suffered under pressure.

PRAYER: By faith, hear Jesus saying unto you in the midst of your trial, “I pray your faith will not fail”, in Jesus Christ’s name.

One of the greatest gifts God has given us is the freedom to make decisions. We are free moral agents with the mind and ability to choose between right and wrong. We can choose to walk away from wrong opportunities; we can also choose to embrace them. Remember, you can blame circumstances or conditions beyond your control but ultimately, you are responsible for what you give your attention to. All of us who have fallen made a decision. All of us who have not fallen faced similar temptations but made a different decision.

If you rely on the strength that comes from Jesus Christ, He will not allow the enemy of your soul to give you more than you can take (1 Corinthians 10:13). You can choose to let the One who created you help you with all that you do by building your relationship with Him. When you have a relationship with Jesus Christ, you change and become a man who is directed by your Heavenly Father, not by the influence from others (John 1:12-13).

PRAYER: In the moment of decision, ask God for the inner grace to choose as Christ would have chosen.

 Tb Joshua daily devotion

Take time out to examine your life this morning. Are you walking with the Lord? If you are walking with the Lord, you would not be overwhelmed by your present situation, whatever it may be. If you are walking with the Lord, no obstacle will change your direction or your position. Many of us, when we set our mind on achieving certain things, when an obstacle comes, we think the end has come, whereas, God is still saying something which we may not understand because of our inability to see beyond that obstacle. Look beyond; don’t be stopped. Keep moving forward, pressing on in your Christian service. Refuse to accept defeat, even in the face of negative sense evidence. Let your aim, focus and desire be on your destination. You are walking with the Lord; you are not used to tears, defeat, failure or doubt. You are walking with the Lord; therefore there is strength in your weakness because God chooses to manifest His strength in your weakness. You are walking with the Lord. Trouble may last for a moment but joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5; John 16:21).

“We glory in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance, perseverance produces character and character, hope.” Romans 5:3-4

That you face challenges does not mean you are not a friend of God. David never questioned why a giant challenged his future – he simply ran to represent God on the battlefield. That you find yourself between a rock and a hard place does not mean you are not a candidate of Heaven. Stephen never questioned why stones were being hurled – he stood and resembled God in all He stands for. That you face an enemy as close as your mouth does not mean you are not a favourite of Heaven. Job never fainted when a wind pulled down his home – he continued to think, talk, act, plan, work and rule with God.

Every man that walks by faith will have testing. Those afflictions or whatever you call them are for our spiritual benefit so we will learn to pray the more, trust God the more, depend on God the more, have faith in God the more. As Romans 5:3-4 says, we glory in our tribulations, knowing that we become who we are, discover what we know and receive strength of character through testing. Take courage: you are called by the Most High God – soldier on!

Prayer: Oh Holy Spirit, give me the grace to be strong, active and alert in this realm of prayer service, in Jesus’ name.

EPHESIANS 6:10 – “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.”

Life is a warfare, this is the battle of the ages. Remember, it is not a playground or a bonding meeting, it is a battlefield where only the serious-minded are victorious. Who are we fighting? We are not fighting flesh and blood but the evil spirits that cause tension and pressure in our lives. The best way to fight satan is to completely ignore his existence. What he wants more than anything is for you to be recognizing him all the time. When you are under attack, when you are sensing demonic influence in your everyday life, begin to pray harder and intensify your meditation. The greatest embarrassment you can give to satan is to ignore his existence.

When you ignore him, he will continue to make noise but keep in mind, he is under your foot because you with God are more than majority. In Luke 10:19, we understand that all authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to us as His children. When you step into the believer’s authority, you can boldly tell the enemy to get behind you because you have the name of Jesus Christ at your command.

Today, whatever situation you experience, remember that satan will try to disorganize you but choose not to give him any attention. When he reminds you of your past, just remind him of his future. Jesus is Lord!

Prayer: God, manifest your strength in my weakness. I am not strong but I have Strength by my side. Take more of me and give me more of You, Lord.

God has given everyone plenty of evidence to believe in Him. Doubt comes when you fail to stop long enough to observe all the evidence. Whenever you are struggling with doubt, take time to remember the way God has worked in your life. As you recall God’s track record, you will grow confident that He will work in your present situation as well, that He will never fail you, nor abandon you and that your situation is not like others’ but for the glory of God. When you count your blessings, your doubts will fly away.

Be patient; let God answer your question on His schedule, not yours (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Don’t throw away your faith just because God does not resolve your doubt immediately. When you are wrestling with doubt, keep attending church and stay close to other Christians. Resist the temptation to isolate yourself because doubt feeds on loneliness. As you move closer to God, you will find the strength to trust Him and your faith will grow even stronger.

We want to reap a booming harvest. Did we plant a booming seed? We want to receive prosperity. Did we plant seeds of prosperity? We want to reap peace. Did we plant the seeds of peace? What you will become tomorrow is determined by the choices you make today. One of the greatest gifts God has given us is the freedom and opportunity to choose from many alternatives that surround us and make decisions – a life full of choices. The choices you make determines who you are before God.

We can choose to walk away from or embrace wrong opportunities. All of us who have fallen made a decision. All of us who have not fallen faced similar temptations but made a different decision.

It is not too late to do the good we can to change the bad we have planted. All of us have made decisions we regret and all of us can be forgiven and start over. Yesterday is history, today is opportunity and tomorrow is mystery. Enforce God’s law in your heart – God will back you. Love and be loved. Show kindness and receive kindness. Show mercy and receive mercy. Plant and reap more of what you have planted.

PRAYER: Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that I may keep my promises and resolutions. Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, to defend all I promised. Guide me, O Holy Spirit, that I may do what is right at all times in Your sight, in Jesus’ name.

The greatest thing satan aims at in tempting good people is to overthrow their position as children of God by cutting off their dependence on God. The devil aims to shake our faith in the Word and bring us to question the truth of the Word, saying, “He said, ‘Come to Me you that are sick and I will heal you’ but you are sick; where is healing? He said, ‘Come to Me you that are poor’ but you are still poor!” To be occupied by what we see is to exactly reverse the condition God laid down for us to follow. The condition – we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). This means that God has promised to respond to that which rests in His Word or promises. What rests in His Word? Faith rests in His Word. So, how do we rest in His Word in the midst of satan’s attack? We Christians, we live the Word, we do the Word, we act the Word, we trust implicitly in the Word. We know that God and His throne are backing up every Word. This gives a quiet and restful confidence. This brings in rest.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, Your Word is integrity itself. I trust my life to its provision. I do not stumble, fall or regret for my steps are ordered by the Word of God. #TB Joshua Sermon

Tb Joshua daily devotion,

1 CORINTHIANS 10:13 – “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”

In this world of distraction, it is very easy get off track and lose our focus. What situation are you facing right now that draws your attention off your Creator? It may be hardship and difficulty or it may be success and prosperity. The Bible says that we must keep our focus by identifying our source. As Christians, the battle the Bible talks about in Galatians 5:16-22 is the battle of our minds, the battle of choosing between right and wrong. Your focus is your personal decision. You can complain, you can blame others but you are responsible for what you give your attention to. What are the things that can make you lose focus? It is those foolish things that cause tension and pressure. No matter what was going on in Jesus’ life, He kept His focus. When you know where you are going, whatever happens to you midway cannot change your focus.

The situation with you now on the outside may be poor, painful, frightening and discouraging but remember your dream – that dream should be your focus, not your present situation.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, give me the grace to identify You as my source and keep focused on my mission in Jesus’ name.

Mark 11:25, “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

You must always remember that you are a sinner saved by grace. It is the will of God for you to remember that you sinned and have been forgiven. For it is that remembrance that creates a loving, helpful and compassionate heart in you towards others. Forgiveness is not based on the magnitude of the sin but on the magnitude of the Father’s love. Jesus never bothered how grievous your sins were when He said, “Father forgive them”.

In mercy, we are not excluded. It is always unreasonable to forgive your enemy until you realise that you were once an enemy of God until He forgave you. It is this remembrance that creates love, compassion and helpfulness in your heart. Until that forgiveness is voiced and received, we should not pray because if we are not forgiving, the power of faith is short-circuited. Thus, it was Jesus’ great design to engage all His followers to love and forgive. As you read this, begin to remember, who you need to forgive today. Anywhere you are, as you have forgiven those who sin against you, get ready for your forgiveness to be voiced and received in the cleansing power of the blood of Jesus Christ by faith.

PRAYER: Forgive me, Oh Lord; I will be forgiven, in Jesus’ name.
