THE DAY YOUR PAIN BECAME HIS!!!

Good Friday is the day when we should remember that our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, did not just suffer for us… He suffered with us! On this day, the weight of our burdens became the burden of One. Are you experiencing physical or emotional pain? He experienced it first, so we could find joy where there is sorrow, healing where there is sickness, and freedom where there is bondage!

𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝟑:𝟏𝟕: “𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐒𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐇𝐢𝐦.”

Truly, His crucifixion prepared the way to our reconciliation with our Heavenly Father, so we should not merely remember this day as a story of agony, but we should embrace it as a testament to the redeeming power of love! Good Friday is a promise of renewal. It is a promise that even in our darkest hours, the Cross is where pain met grace, so our own suffering can be radically transformed.

Therefore, today, rather than giving into despair caused by our situation, let us look to the Cross with a heart filled with gratitude, and let us thank Jesus Christ for the most profound act of love in history!

WORDS WITH SPIRITUAL SUBSTANCE

The spoken word is one of the most important tools God has given man. Let us not forget that it all started with just one word. One word is enough to start a friendship or an eternal war; words are enough to make you an influential person or a detestable individual. But what is the nature of words in the realm of the spirit?

“𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐉𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧-𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 […] 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐚𝐥𝐥. In this event described in the book of Acts we see a group of people who decided to repeat some inspiring words they heard, without though being aware of their spiritual substance. That is why we notice that something was missing from these words; their words did not have the same results as when spoken by a man of faith. The difference was that their words were idle, that is, they did not come from faith. Thus, while their words were able to persuade and inspire people to trust them, they could not persuade God to support them and, consequently, did not persuade the unclean spirits.

This teaches us that for our words to have spiritual substance and not be idle, for our words to secure God’s support, they must spring from a solid faith. Idle words can entertain men but cannot reach God in order to secure His support!

🙏 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: “Lord Jesus Christ, open my heart to Your Word, so that it may be filled with Your Word, in order for my words not to be empty and meaningless, but that they may be words that build and establish. In Your mighty name I pray, amen!”

The GATEWAYS OF SENSES

Man’s five senses are gateways that lead to the mind. They stimulate thoughts, create impressions and direct decision making. The problem in this is that the natural human senses can only perceive the natural world – actually, only a part of it. Τhey are unable to comprehend the sphere of the spirit, which is a superset of the world of the senses. Therefore, the senses, on their own, are not a reliable basis for making important decisions and drawing conclusions. We need something greater, something from the spiritual world to guide us and awaken our spirit; this something greater is the Word of God. God’s Word has the ability to quicken us spiritually and helps our spirit govern our senses!

The Living Word in the heart of the Lord Jesus was what enabled Him to govern His natural senses, when He was tempted in the desert. His words make this clear: “[…] 𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧: ‘𝐌𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐨𝐝’” (𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝟒:𝟒).

When you embrace the Word of God, like the Lord Jesus did, and your spirit governs your senses, then your mind becomes your servant and not your master, and you live above the limited perception of the senses, understanding better the higher laws of the spirit.

🙏 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: “Lord God, as I dedicate myself more to the study of Your Word, awaken, strengthen and equip my spiritual man to rule over my senses, that I may live free for Your glory – in the name of Jesus Christ, amen!”

𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄

Is it enough to be sorry for one’s sins or mistakes when one is not determined to amend their bad ways? Can we really say we have repented, if we are not willing to resist the temptation to go back to our previous lifestyle?

The truth is that repentance is not only feeling sorrow for the sins committed but also breaking away from sin. And for one to break away from sin, there is an important event that needs to occur in one’s life; it’s a moment that turns one’s life around! This moment of real change occurs when we get mad at our sin, when we get sick of repeating our mistakes! It happened to Peter in the book of 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝟏𝟒:𝟕𝟐 and the change it brought on him was massive: “𝐀 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐝. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐢𝐦, ‘𝐁𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐭𝐰𝐢𝐜𝐞, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐲 𝐌𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬’. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭, 𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐩𝐭”.

Peter got angry at his fear, got sick of his timidness and took a decision that changed his life; he decided to never again allow his fear of others stop him from living what he believed! Thus, a fearful man was transformed to the flaming herald of the Gospel we all came to know through the Acts of the Apostles!
